Blog # 1 Gimkit

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang;s PPT T3PP Slide 3, Gimkit.

https://www.gimkit.com/

Gimkit is a simple and fun question game making tool for teachers. It provides teachers a stream lined processes in creating multiple choice questions that they can assign to one of Gimkits multiple game formats to test their students with. With 31 different game options students in the classroom can stay engaged with the questions being asked and motivated to study hard to get them right and progress in their favorite game options.

    Ease of use: 7/10

After you make a free account with Gimkit you can navigate to the "Kits" tab that has the option to make a new Gimkit. Once your kit is named, you can add questions to your kit that your students will answer. questions are in the form of multiple choice with 4 options. When your finished you hit "all done" and can test your kit by "play live". This is where you select what game you want to put your questions too and geta code for your students. when students hop onto Gimkit they can select "join game" and type in your code.

    Versatility: 7/10

Depending on your classes interests there is a variety of different games that you can link your questions too.  For example if your students like the game among us or the marvel movies there are games themed to them. There are also platformers and a version of jeopardy if they prefer other styles of games and your questions in your saved kit can always be changed. If further clarification is needed or more questions need to be added or taken away, you always have the option to do so with remaking the entire kit.

The over all likelihood of using it : 10/10

Through out classes I've been in before, my peers and I loved doing Gimkits. Finding them to be more elaborate then Kahoots but just as effective in practicing subjects. Gimkits can last for as long or as short as the teacher wants so they can work great as a brain break or as a in class study time. In our class this week we looked at how to make a game on power point, and while it is a great option to use power point, some times you don't have the time to prepare and link many slides of questions. Gimkit simplifies the process with "fill in the blank" inputs to format your questions and lets you pick from their game options instead of planning how to run your own.
